Albert Pujols Calls Out Colby Rasmus


ST. LOUIS — A season that is slipping away for the St. Louis Cardinals has turned personal, with star slugger Albert Pujols criticizing young outfielder Colby Rasmus.

Rasmus has admitted he wasn’t always happy while playing for the Cardinals as a rookie last year and this season. The 24-year-old center fielder is denying reports, however, that he asked in July to be traded.

Emirates flight EK017, using the 517-seat double-decker plane, arrived from Dubai just after 1225 BST.

University Of Colorado Journalism Program May Be Cut


BOULDER, Colo. — The University of Colorado at Boulder is reviewing the future of its journalism program.

CU said Wednesday that on Sept. 1 a committee will start the process of “program discontinuance” for the School of Journalism and Mass Communication. A separate exploratory committee will determine what a new “information and communication technology” program could look like.

Fort Collins Riots: Swat Teams Quell Hundreds Of Rioters At NewWestFest


FORT COLLINS — Hundreds of people rioted, causing significant damage in Old Town Fort Collins early Sunday morning at NewWestFest.

Rita Davis, spokeswoman for the Fort Collins Police Department, said the riot lasted several hours and caused significant damage to some businesses and vendor booths.

Angelina Jolie Premieres ‘Salt’ In London (PHOTOS)


Angelina Jolie took her spy movie ‘Salt’ to London on Monday.

The film had its UK premiere at London’s Leicester Square, with Jolie as the main event. Sadly for the ladies, costars Liev Schreiber and Chiwetel Ejiofor did not attend.

Jolie wore an Amanda Wakeley dress with Ferragamo shoes.

Twin Girls Died From Neglect, Prosecutors Call Home ‘Deplorable’


Conditions at the Far South Side home where two 13-month-old twin girls were found Thursday were “deplorable,” a prosecutor said today at a court hearing for the babies’ mother, who has been charged with child endangerment in connection with their deaths.
